Stats: He's a big guy at 27.5 pounds (88th%) and 33.75" (90th%). Considering M and I are both medium sized (but have some tall family members) we're curious if he will stay so big. His sister settled into the 50th percentile by now and has stayed there. He is wearing size 4 diapers, size 5 shoes and 18-24 month and 2T clothes. He has 16 teeth, the canines are about 1/2 in but all the others are all the way in. Hopefully the 2 year molars are a little way out, a teething break would be appreciated!
Food: He is a great eater. I'm not as worried this time around about the days he doesn't seem hungry because I know they are balanced with days he eats anything that isn't nailed down =) He eats 3 meals a day, two snacks and is still nursing 4x a day (7am, 11am, 5pm and 8pm). I'm also pumping at work at 2pm on work days and nursing him then on weekends. He doesn't drink cow milk yet, he doesn't like it. Neither does K so maybe it's a side effect of extended nursing? Both of them love cheese and yogurt so the doctor isn't concerned.
Skills: We've noticed a big change this month in his verbal ability, he's starting to test out a lot of words. He's not putting together two word sentences yet so he's a little behind on that from where K was. That's because he's been putting most of his effort into gross motor development up until this point. He's runs almost everywhere and is in to everything. We're noticing a big different between how rough he is in comparison to what K did at this age and he loves to bang things together, throw things down, etc. He is enjoying the body part game and making animal sounds when you name an animal. He likes making the hand motions to itsy-bitsy spider, wheels on the bus, happy and you know it, etc. He really enjoys music and almost always shakes his booty when it plays. Book time is more popular in the last month that it had been before that.
Sleep: He's doing great here and sleeps 8:30 pm to 7 am with a 2 hour nap from 1-3. In November I cut out the one overnight nursing session we had been doing and it has really helped the nighttime wake up situation. He now wakes an average of once a night and puts himself back to sleep in ~5 minutes. This is a big improvement since he had been waking 2-3 times a night and needing our help to go back to sleep in 15-20 minutes. We all feel more rested and happier!
Overall he is such a happy and easy going guy. We couldn't be happier to have him in our family and feel so lucky every day =) Happy 1.5 big man!
