Well, it's official at 8:50am this morning K turned two =) These milestones make me tear up for the simple fact that I am so grateful that we have her in our lives. She is kind, sensitive, smiley, cute as all get out and just a general joy. Every single day I feel like we won the baby lottery!
Here are a few updates on our big girl:
Stats: She is 27lb (56th%) and 34" (56th) but may have added some weight after the 3 pieces of pizza and full cupcake she ate at her b-day party yesterday! She's got all 20 teeth now and we are thankful teething is OVER.
Food: She's always been a great eater. Right now it seems like she either eats like a bird or a horse at any given meal. In the past she's been a good veggie eater but she's taking a break on them. She still will eat a little but she focuses on the meat and then carbs. What can I say, she's totally my daughter. I didn't eat green veggies until I was 30 - and now I do just because I know I need to, not because I like them. *lol* We're still nursing once a day but will be weaning the middle of June, sigh. K asks for "milk", to "switch sides" and tells me when the "milk is all gone". Adorable.
Skills: Her verbal skills are amazing - she's probably saying 200+ words. I lost track a while ago. She'll repeat anything and everything. Final training of Mom and Dad is complete =) So far no bad words but I'm sure they are coming. The closest is that anytime she sees a police officer she says, "uh-oh, the poe-poe" and laughs covering her mouth. Totally hilarious. She loves to sing and dance. She knows the words to Happy Birthday, the alphabet song (which she calls "ABCD Again" since I always ask "Again?" when she wants to sing it over and over), Ring Around the Rosie, Patty Cake, Twinkle Twinkle and You Are My Sunshine. I'm sure there's more she knows from school to. Dancing is a must each and every day. Recently she's wanted me to twirl her and do somersaults with her so she might just be into gymnastics at some point. We'll see.
Favorite things: Riding on the tractor (aka our riding lawn mower), feeding the horses and chickens snack, playing outside, rocks, dancing, singing, reading, hair ties, dresses, sandals, her vitamins, baths, ice water and her baby doll.
B-day Party Deets: We had her b-day at the park yesterday. About 25 people came and she had a great time. She played in the sand, on the playground on the swings with her little friends and enjoyed all the attention. Last year I made all the food/cakes and this year I went the easy route, ordering pizza and cupcakes. We also had fruit and veggie trays in an attempt to balance out the food pyramid. She got a pedal tractor, picnic table, sit-n-spin, sidewalk chalk, play doh, bubble machine, aqua doodle, clothes & books from her generous party friends and grandparents. Tonight we'll give her the Mrs. Potato Head and medical kit we got her along with a few other small odds and ends. We'll also enjoy another cupcake since she loved this one so much =)
Happy birthday our sweet girl!
