Great Weekend / Lupron Sucks

So I was feeling ok on the Lupron last week...then I stopped the BCPs on Friday and WOW...I'm sleeping horribly between the night sweats and hot flashes and now have a headache that appears to be here to stay.  Today I am angry...not like a little, but a lot.  I think if a fertile mouths off to me today they might get smacked.  Ok, so I wouldn't really do it but I'll think about it...hard.  AF will likely be here in a few days so maybe the Lupron and PMS are just conspiring against me after ~5 hrs of broken sleep last night.  Ugh.  Have I said recently how I loathe IF?

In other, better, news our weekend was great!  Saturday K's school had a re-grand opening because they finished off some new rooms.  She loved the loud music and did some hilarious dancing.  She also tried out her first bounce house and polished off TWO hot dogs and had cotton candy for the first time.  That evening we went to our fave Mexican restaurant (The Rio) for my early b-day dinner out (it's on Thursday).  Sunday we went to the zoo with friends in the morning and then to some other friends for dinner.  Great weekend...also tiring weekend when you mix in the laundry, grocery shopping, etc.  Yawn.

And we finially downloaded some pics so get ready for picture overload =)

Playing in packing peanuts...a mess but so worth it, she loves them!

At the park

She's trying on Mrs. Potato Head's glasses...and she finds it hillarious

Learning to put on her own strappy sandals - I can't wait for this to be perfected!

With her little buddies at the zoo - this lion came right up to the glass.  Last night when I was putting her to bed she was so scared the lion would come in to her room.  This is the stuff night mares are made of ;-)

Playing in the little splash park at the zoo

Riding the carousel

Trying to get three toddlers to stay still and look at the camera is IMPOSSIBLE!

At our dinner date's house last night - these girls play so nicely together and gave each other hugs (adorable!) when we left.

Ok, this might be TMI but that is a ball of ear wax that came out of her ear last night after bath.  Is that thing not huge?

1st Lupron Shot

The crazy train has officially left the station...last night at 7pm I did my first Lupron shot.  Side effects are minimal so far - a mild headache and dizziness.  If all goes to plan I'll have 24 days of these shots so hopefully my body copes fairly well.  The countdown for stopping the BCPs has begun and I have 4 left =)

K still has a cough.  If it persists through tomorrow I'll probably try to get her into the doc for a check late this week.  She is all smiles and a ball of energy though so I don't think anything too bad is going on....hopefully.

M's work trip to Switzerland was cancelled due to budget issues at his work.  It's both awesome and sucky all at once.  The awesome part is that he will now be in town for our betas =)  The sucky part is that it was an awesome opportunity for him work wise and he would have met a lot of mucky mucks.  Hopefully it'll be rescheduled.

No new pictures...we're slackers on that front lately...next time, promise!

Big Box of Meds

The meds arrived for my FET today and Lupron starts on Monday...all aboard the crazy train!  The infertility specialty pharmacy was nice enough to include a little bag of Hershey's kisses with my order.  Do they know their clientele or what?!

K is feeling better thankfully.  What I thought was a mild cold wasn't so mild after all.  She fought fevers (from 101-103.5) Monday through Wednesday and had lots of GI issues on Tuesday.  She is down to the rattle cough that hopefully marks the cold nearing an end and all the congestion breaking up.  Yesterday afternoon she made her return to school and I came back to work but we could probably use some more R&R to recover this weekend.  Hope all my bloggy friends have a fab upcoming weekend!!!

Good News, Bad News

Good - K hasn't had a cold in THREE months, this is a record!
Bad - It's back to school week and I can tell - K has cold #35

Saturday we had no worries at all, we hit two parks and the children's museum before lunch in fact.  It was a really fun morning.  K napped well and we went out to dinner with my folks at a Mexican restaurant that M and I were weekly regulars at before we had K.  It was so yummy and we hadn't been in about 6 months.

We got home, had our normal bath and book routine and K went to sleep like usual.  But then only an hour later she woke up crying and woke up crying every 20-30 minutes crying and coughing for the rest of the night.  Most of the time she didn't open her eyes so I'm guessing she was actually sleeping through most of it. But we didn't.  Yesterday was a long day of sniffles and fussiness but she didn't have a fever and still wanted to do most of her normal activities.  Last night we gave her ibuprofen and she slept better but started coughing/crying in her sleep around 4:30 so I've been up since *yawn*  Today she's at school and I left instructions that if she's low energy to give me a call and I'll go get her.  Sometimes it's just what the doctor ordered to play with her little friends.

Hopefully this one passes soon and this season we see a serious slow down in the number of colds and ear infections she gets!

And because we're slackers here are some pictures from LAST weekend that we finally got downloaded...

Getting ready for her Uncle's b-day gathering - she loves dresses!

Petting the cutest little pony ever at a place called "The Farm" that we went to with friends last weekend.  They have pigs, sheep, chickens, turkeys, ponies, cows, goats, etc. that the kids can pet and feed.  They also have a playground with tractors they can sit on and stuff.

This is the whole crew of us that went to "The Farm", they are two of my best girlfriends...ever =)

Popping bubble wrap for the first time - she liked it but found the packing peanuts so much more fun!  She has played in them for hours since they arrived.  Messy to clean up but so worth it.  Forgive the ketchup on her dress - school lets them eat 100% on their own so it usually makes for some messy clothes.

Official FET Protocol

Well folks, we're off to the races.  Here are the highlights:

  • 8/6 - BCPs started
  • 8/20 - Lupron starts
  • 8/24 - Last BCP
  • 8/30 - 1st day of FET cycle!  Celebrate with b/w, u/s and start estrogen (this also happens to be my birthday!)
  • 9/8 - Lining check and trigger shot
  • 9/9 - Start progesterone (still talking about PIO vs Crinone)
  • 9/14 - Transfer
  • 9/24 - Beta 1
  • 9/26 - Beta 2
Of course there are a few more b/w appointments scattered in there for fun.  It feels good to have an official schedule but the BCPs are not being kind so far.  I left work yesterday because I was SO sick to my stomach.  I will be changing to taking them at night in hopes that will help.  Please let the Lupron and Estrogen be kind...

M will be in Switzerland on a fabulous business opportunity from September 23-29.  Yep, that's right folks for both betas my DH will be out of town.  I'm exciting for him but we both wish we could be together when we find out.  So I am dedicated to POAS every day from trigger to 9/23 in hopes we know before he goes.  I know you're impressed with the dedication  *LOL*  For those who know how much of a POAS addict I am this wasn't exactly a leap =)

We have been total slackers and haven't downloaded pictures in the last 10 days so you'll be left without any pictures of K for this post.  But there is big news in her world this week - she's renewed her interest in the potty!  She went #1 yesterday at school in the big girl potty and she asked to sit on it (and did her #1 business) last night and this morning.  We went through a two month period when she was 18-20 months that she went on the potty (#1 and #2) every day at bath time but since then she's been pretty avoidant and doesn't even want to sit on it.  We'll see if this time is the real deal.  She's 26 months now and a couple of her friends at daycare just switched to panties so maybe it's THE time.

We're Back!

Vacation was good =)  Traveling with a toddler isn't what I would call relaxing but she did fabulous and we had a nice visit with family.  She did well on the plane, was happy to be around and even thought she went on nap strike one day (her first day ever without a nap) she had a blast.  My Aunt and Uncle were constantly saying how pleasant, polite and hungry she is.  I might add here that my Aunt and Uncle are very kind people *LOL*  We only had two full days there but here are some photos from the trip:

Warming up to her Great Aunt & Uncle on the day we arrived

Feeding the ducks and geese some bread - she was in love with this activity

Family shot

There were these fabulous water features in a park (Liberty Park) that had seven "canyons" of water that had a water fall at the top and flowed down a little path the kids could walk down.  She seriously loved this place and would have stayed ALL day.

In the morning after breakfast we'd go on the deck to enjoy the view.

We went to an indoor amusement park type place and she enjoyed riding in these spinning tea cups.  M & I took turns going with her and agree that it would be better if rides that went around in circles didn't also spin *LOL*

Here we are on the roller coaster - she liked when we went forward but not so much when we went backward =)  I stared at her the whole time to reassure her and ended up with horrible motion sickness.  She seemed no worse for wear though.

This little car was the first ride she was willing to do all by herself and she rode it three times.

This park was such a hit a few days before that we went again on our way to the airport =)  She LOVES water!  I so wish we had a park like this close to us.

On the way home we decided to take her seat on board and she ended up going to sleep on the assent and didn't wake up until the wheels hit the ground to land.  I think she and baby had the best seat on the plane!

Vacation Starts Today!

We are leaving in an hour for a four day trip to visit family in SLC =)  K is so excited about the plane...I hope the excitement lasts!  Our flight is over lunch and we have packed lots of food to keep her busy.  Plus it's only 1.5 flight so it should be just fine *fingers crossed*

Yesterday I had monitoring done to start Provera...well it turns out I did O on CD33, seriously?!  Now my RE just wants me for nature to take it's course.  Hopefully AF won't get lost.

Does anyone else have trouble getting pictures of your toddler?  K is at a stage of REALLY not wanting her pic taken - can you tell?  Didn't think so ;-)
